Last Saturday my boyfriend and I headed to Block Island to say goodbye to summer and enjoy a day of bike riding and sightseeing. Little did I know he had much more in store for us!
After getting off the ferry we rented bikes and decided to head to one of our favorite spots near the North Lighthouse. Not too many people head out to see the lighthouse since it is on the other side of the island and is quite the trek to get to. After riding out to it, we then walk for about a mile on the beach. Behind the lighthouse is a very private beach where we went last summer to look for seaglass.
I finally got to experience the magic that is the Coventry, CT Farmer’s Market at the Nathan Hale Homestead. This is not your average farmer’s market; along with local produce, there are crafts, local food trucks, and various food vendors. There is a little bit of something for everyone, plus plenty of farmer’s to stock up your fridge for the week.
Last weekend while I was visited home, I checked out the sunflower field at Buttonwood’s Farm in Griswold, CT. Myself (and my mom) could not get over just how beautiful this natural display is! It is definitely a hidden gem of the quiet corner.
I made a few panoramas- created them using Photoshop and a somewhat steady hand- and took plenty of other pictures as well.
Photo Credit to my mom for taking the top middle picture. She’s always taking candids!
